People train hard and exercise themselves to the point of utter exhaustion, doing crunches and sit-ups until the sweat pours from their souls, but still the belly fat hangs on for dear life, without even blinking an eye. Without knowing it they are in fact creating and developing the most amazing set of abdominal muscles - but until they do one thing, the belly fat will be going nowhere.
It takes hard work to develop the muscles, but to actually see them depends on how much belly fat you have.
So if you have been exercising like crazy, and you still cannot see your abs, you simply have too much body fat covering up the ab muscles. Do a combination of both and you will burn calories like a runaway wildfire.
The exercise you have been doing (hopefully) is creating a tremendous foundation. But until you determine your personal calorie needs, for your body type, and create a calorie deficit based on that, you will be doing crunches till your tears run dry, and the belly fat will be untouched.
